Glossary

    Behaviorome

The behaviorome is defined as the complete set of behaviors of an iindividual or a group of individividuals.
    Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is an illness of
unknown etiology that is characterized by excessive preoccupation
with an imagined or minor defect in body appearance
[DSM-IV]. The preoccupation creates substantial distress or
    impairment.

    MEMS Technology

Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) are very small mechanical devices driven by electricity; MEMS are made up of components between 1 to 100 micrometres in size (i.e. 0.001 to 0.1 mm). Complete devices generally range in size from 20 micrometres to a millimetre. Important MEMS for activity monitoring are accelerometers and gyroscopes. MEMS have become practical and inexpensive by using modifications of techniques developed for fabrication of semiconductor devices.

    Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an illness that
is characterized by recurrent obsessions and compulsions
that cause marked distress and impairment [DSM-IV].
